Compassionate Care Begins with Our Leadership

The leaders who are guiding Central Penn Nursing Care make sure that their core values of compassion and caring are reflected in everything the agency does. They truly care about the clients and caregivers that are part of the CPNC family, and they take pride in the meaningful relationships that have been built over the years.

Eleanor Strayer

Eleanor H. Strayer is president and owner of Central Penn Nursing Care, Inc., a home care and staffing agency with the office located on the Fruitville Pike in Lancaster.

Throughout her career, Eleanor has been a teacher, owned an interior design company and has provided outplacement career counseling.  Each experience had two things in common – dealing with people and problem solving.

Becoming the owner and president of CPNC has allowed Eleanor to use her expertise and her empathetic nature to manage the company’s daily operations. She frequently gives presentations about the benefits of in-home senior care and the wide range of services provided by her company. Eleanor takes great pride in witnessing the benefits of compassionate home care her clients receive from dependable, qualified caregivers.

Eleanor has a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University and has pursued graduate work at various universities and colleges.  She is a member of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, the Pennsylvania Home Care Association, the United Way Women’s Council, the Lancaster General Hospital’s Giving Circle and the Lancaster County Workforce Investment Board.

Marty Strayer

Marty was a successful executive in the computer industry for 30 years. He was raised in Manheim, Pennsylvania, and returned to Lancaster when he and Eleanor purchased Central Penn Nursing Care, Inc. Marty is the Chief Financial Officer of the company and manages all the financial areas of the business. He is a graduate of Penn State University with a BA degree in Marketing and Finance. In addition to his CPNC responsibilities, he is a professor in the College of Business and Economics at Lehigh University and on the Board of Governors for the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Marty says, "The best thing about Central Penn Nursing Care is seeing the comfort and peace of mind that we bring into our client's lives, as well as the lives of their families. My father was a client of Central Penn Nursing Care so I can say with confidence that no one provides better in-home care – no one!"
