The seasons are changing and its time to start getting out the jackets and preparing for the infamous Pennsylvania winter. Luckily there is still some time to soak up the outdoors. Fall offers a lot of fun outdoor activities and allows people to stay cool while doing them.
Walking or driving through the mountains or wooded area can also be very enjoyable due to the gorgeous colors fall has to offer. The leaves change rapidly before they fall in preparation for winter, so watching them daily over time can be something to look forward to.
Apple picking can be fun for the whole family. Kids as well as adults can participate in this activity and it provides the fresh air we all need. Most apple picking farms also have produce stands that will offer pumpkins and fall produce for all to enjoy.
Gardening is not just a summer activity either. Mums, marigolds and other flowers do well in the fall and need a little extra attention during the change in climate. These flowers look great in pots as well as flower beds during this time of year. A good resource to see what other kinds of flowers can be planted and how to care for them is gardenguides.com.
Fall decorating is another activity that grandparents can do with their grandchildren. Pumpkin carving and making scarecrows to decorate for the upcoming trick-or-treaters can be a very enjoyable way to spend a nice fall day.
Lastly, going to see a football game can really lift the spirits! Being around cheering fans and the liveliness of it can bring a smile to anyones face. Go and see a local high school or college team.
Summer is a great time of year, but fall also has a lot to offer. Include your aging loved ones in fun fall activities.
