Healthy Diet

July 16th, 2014

You already know that a healthy diet should include plenty of fruits and vegetables. But not all fruits and vegetables are not created equal. Here are some of the best that contain high antioxidants and disease-fighting substances.
Broccoli– By weight it has more Vitamin C than an orange, roughly as much calcium as milk and is an excellent source of folic acid, potassium and fiber.
Carrots– Just one carrot gives you more than the recommended dietary allowance of beta carotene. They are rich in potassium which helps control blood pressure and are essential for your heart, kidneys, muscles and nerves.
Red Peppers– They have 3 times as much Vitamin C as citrus fruits.
Cantaloupe– Just 2/3 cup supplies 70% of your recommended dietary allowance for Vitamin C.
Strawberries– Just one cup provides about 140% of the recommended dietary allowance of Vitamin C and more fiber than two slices of whole wheat toast-all for just 45 calories.
