Meeting the Dementia Challenge

June 19th, 2013

Seniors who are experiencing dementia face a variety of challenges.  They find it difficult to remember things and people clearly, which makes the progression harder each day. Clear thinking can elude them, and they may have difficulties communicating with others. Their personalities and behaviors can change drastically.  A caring and compassionate home care aide can offer valuable assistance.  The aide can set a positive mood when interacting with the client and help to keep them comfortable while providing a safe environment. The aides will listen patiently and offer help when they can’t find the words they are looking for.  Home care aides offer senior clients with Dementia support and reassurance as well as keep them out of harm’s way.
