March 24th, 2016
March is National Social Work Month. It is a time to celebrate all they do in our community. Social workers help families, individuals and the community everyday in order to help people to reach their full potential and to be a helping hand when times are tough. The theme this year is “Forging Solutions out of Challenges.” Social workers are faced with challenges each day and help people to make our communities a better place.
In the senior community social workers play an intricate part in helping individuals find placement if looking to move into a community and to ensure their well being is always a priority. Their most important role is to be an advocate for seniors. CPNC works closely with social workers from retirement homes, home health care, skilled nursing facilities and hospice. They help their seniors get home care when it is needed and follow up with them and CPNC to ensure they are doing well.
If you see a social worker say thank you for all that they do, not just this month, but all through the year.
