Stay Right There

June 29th, 2012

According to the AARP, over 80 percent of seniors in America prefer to stay in their own homes as they age; they are determined to “age in place.” They want to remain in the environment that has been comfortable to them for as long as they are able.  Their surrounding area is familiar, the layout, the furniture and the memories are present and offer seniors a sense of security.  The neighborhood and community are familiar and they may live close to family.  Aging in place is especially helpful in preserving the seniors’ feelings of independence.  If and when it becomes necessary, helpful assistance from Home Care Aides can help make aging in place possible.  It allows seniors to have the help they need when they need it.  They may only require help for a few hours a day, several days a week, but they get to decide.  Home Care can be a valuable tool in keeping seniors exactly where they want to be.

We make aging in place a comfortable possibility.  Our caregivers can shoulder the tasks that may be too much for your aging loved ones.  These may include personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation and other various tasks.  In addition, we can provide the security that comes from knowing your loved one isn’t alone.

P.S The U.S. Census Bureau reports that by the year 2030 the number of Americans over the age of 65 will reach approximately 71.5 million.
